We went inside and I noticed right away that the place was totally packed.

딱 안으로 들어갔는데 사람이 꽉 찼더라구요. (바로 알아 차렸어요.)

All the tables were occupied, and it didn't look like anyone was leaving anytime soon.

테이블도 다 차있고 금방 자리가 나지도 않겠더라구요. (아무도 나갈 것 같지가 않았어요.)

So, I turned to my friend, and just as I was about to suggest trying a different place, my friend went over to an old couple at a table and asked if we could share the table with them. 

그래서 친구한테 가서 다른 데 가자고 얘기하려 했는데 (제안하려던 찰나에) 얘가 어떤 테이블에 앉아있는 나이가 좀 드신 커플에게 가더니 같이 좀 앉아도 되냐는 거에요.

I was like, "What the hell are you doing?" Are you crazy?". That's rude, right?

저는 “너 뭐해? 미쳤어?” 이랬죠. 무례하잖아요?

I mean, I found that really inappropriate. 

전 그건 좀 아닌 것 같더라구요.

But, to my surprise, the couple were very cool with it, so we sat right next to them. 

근데 의외로 그분들이 너무 쿨하게 괜찮다고 해서 그분들 바로 옆에 앉았어요.

I mean, I still found that awkward, but it turns out my friend does that all the time.

저는 여전히 그게 좀 어색했는데 제 친구는 늘 그렇게 한다고 하더라구요.
